Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site sampling and testing of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt

Laboratory Technician

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Igne are seeking to appoint Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the successful and expanding Ground Investigation Division (GI Scotland) based from Hamilton, Glasgow.  You will be responsible for managing large complex ground investigation projects and have the expertise to write first class interpretative reports.  It will be expected that you bring a significant amount of experience and be chartered or actively working towards it.

  • Site investigation contract supervision / management (of drilling rigs and personnel) and liaising with clients
  • Soil and rock logging to current guidelines

Geotechnical Engineer

Igne is seeking a Project Engineering Geologist to join the Ground Investigation (GI) Division in Hamilton. This is a full-time, permanent position that will require travel. This role offers a mix of site and office based work and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a diverse portfolio of ground investigation and geotechnical projects across Scotland. You will be responsible for managing large, complex ground investigation projects and writing first class interpretative reports.

  • Assist with planning and preparation of GI’s

Lead Driller

Igne is seeking a Lead Driller to join the Ground Investigation (GI) Division in Hamilton. This is a full-time, permanent position that will require travel. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and progressive geotechnical contractor based from Hamilton or Aberdeen. 

We offer above industry pay, which includes lots of opportunities for overtime and regular bonuses, along with generous subsistence and inconvenience payments when working away from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all works in accordance with company standards, included (but not limited to), ESOPs, project instructions, method statements and statutory and Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

  • Ensure equipment intended for the works can access work areas, fulfil the project requirement etc.
  • Training of Assistant drillers to encourage professional development to Lead driller level

Laboratory Technician - Construction Materials Testing

Igne is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Construction Materials Testing team in Bristol.  If you’re imagining working in a sterile environment with a white coat, this is not the laboratory role for you. We test ground and soil samples with the very latest technology to support our construction sector clients to find cost-effective solutions for their building projects.


Consideration will be given to experienced laboratory technicians who have operated in a similar role.  You will need a willingness to learn, to be happy getting your hands dirty and be able to move samples that can weigh in excess of 15kg.  In return, we will provide a full-time job with excellent rates of pay and overtime (both in the week and over the weekend), and the opportunity to work in an exciting and growing sector along with excellent career opportunities.

Trainee Laboratory Technician

Ready to build a career that supports some of the UK’s biggest construction projects? Igne Group is seeking a Trainee Laboratory Technician to join its Construction Materials Testing Division in Daventry. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to begin a hands-on career in construction materials testing – no prior experience required.

 

As a Trainee Laboratory Technician you will be carrying out tests on a range of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, while accurately completing test sheets and entering data onto tablets. The position of Trainee Laboratory Technician also requires regular communication with senior staff to coordinate work schedules and ensure that testing procedures are followed correctly.

Key & Responsibilities :

  • Testing various construction materials e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt
  • Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets
  • Liaise with senior members of staff on work schedules and testing procedures
  • Work within in-house quality assurance systems
  • Maintain high levels of health and safety in line with company policies

 

Your Qualifications:

 

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

 

About You:

 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Manual handling and physical activity are daily requirements – samples can weigh in excess of 15kg
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to organise your own workload
  • Confidence in working in a team environment
